Getting started with AgentOS

Sign in, create your first digital employee, try it safely with a practice run, and see what happens before anything is sent.

AgentOS lets you describe a job in plain English and turns it into a digital employee: an AI worker with its own identity, memory, permissions and tools. This guide takes you from sign-in to your first safe run.

Open the console at /app and enter your email address. This is also how you sign up: your account is created the first time you sign in. AgentOS emails you a 6-digit code, so there is no password to remember. The code works for 15 minutes. After five wrong tries it locks and you must ask for a new one, and you can ask for a new code once a minute.

The first time you sign in, AgentOS creates a personal workspace for you. A workspace is the home of your agents, connections, memory and settings. You can create more workspaces for different teams or clients, and invite people into them.

Create your first agent

  1. Open the Agents tab.
  2. Describe the job in plain English, for example: "Each morning, summarize anything urgent in my inbox and list today's meetings."
  3. Choose Draft with AI. AgentOS proposes a name, instructions and the tools the worker needs.
  4. Review the draft. You can edit the name and the instructions. The box that lets the agent send email, post messages or change the calendar is off unless the request clearly asked for it.
  5. Choose Save agent.

Every agent automatically gets a profile with a handle and a job title. See Agents and identity for details.

Try it with a practice run

Open the agent and write a request in the Run it box. Leave Practice run ticked. In a practice run the agent reads your real data, but anything it would send, post or create is only shown as a preview. Nothing leaves your account.

When you are happy, untick Practice run to do a real run. In a real run, anything that sends or changes something does not happen yet. It waits in the Approvals tab until a person approves it.

Connect your tools

An agent can only use the tools you have connected. Open the Connections tab to connect Google (Gmail and Calendar), Slack, Notion or HubSpot. See Connecting your tools.

Know the limits

Every workspace starts on the free plan, which allows a small number of agents and a monthly number of runs and AI spending. If you reach a limit, the console tells you which one. The limits can change as pricing is finalized.

Next steps

  • Set limits for what the agent may do in Permissions and approvals.
  • Teach it things to remember in Memory.
  • Put it to work on a schedule or from a web address in Deployments and schedules.
